ALIVE

ALIVE

ALIVE (Improving Adolescent Mental Health by reducing the impact of poverty) is a 5 year research project brings together psychological and poverty reduction mechanisms in an effort to reduce the incidence of depression and anxiety among adolescents in Colombia, Nepal and South Africa.

The pilot intervention study is led by Crick Lund and Mark Jordans at Kings College, London, UK and involves an interdisciplinary consortium  to develop and pilot-test an intervention that equips adolescents with the skills to deal with the difficulties living in poverty and strengthen self-regulation, to prevent adolescent depression and anxiety in urban settings in three low- and middle-income countries.

We work within Work Package 6 that actively explores adolescents’ reflections, suggestions and expressions on the study design, intervention design and instrument design, to ensure that the study remains relevant and informed by young people.
